So I successfully passed my driving test with Coach Wang. I bought the 10+2 package and passed on the first go!
I had originally planned to get my license earlier in 2016, but got caught up in study and never really thought about taking the test, even though I had already logged several hours with another driving company.
Fast forward to June. I was a total newbie to driving again – I haven’t driven in about 8 months, many things became unfamiliar and I forgot how dangerous the roads can be. Luckily my sister recommended Coach Wang to me. I was a bit skeptical at first, since asian instructors are known to be strict and unafraid to criticise and point out flaws which I don’t deal well with.
Coach Wang was exactly that. To be honest, his constant criticism was annoying at times, but deep down I knew it was for my sake. He was also extremely patient with teaching, almost every lesson we took he would keep telling me to slow down but I never really got it until the latter lessons. I think any other coaches would have just given up, but not Coach Wang.
During the two hour warm up on the day of the test I was extremely nervous since it was raining. Coach just told me to keep calm, relax and focus on the road, and you’ll be fine. We drove through the route and he gave me a few tips and pointers along the way. It turned out to be exactly the route I took in the test! During the test I thought about what tips he might have told me as we drove across each street and during every maneuver, and before I knew it I had passed!
That just goes to show how invaluable knowledge, experience and patience is in a driving instructor. And Coach Wang cetrainly doesn’t lack in any of those departments. I’m glad I found Aoxing!!
